Mt. A-Line and Other Updates

Mt. A-Line! Our highly anticipated project is finally taking shape! We've been hard at work planning, meeting, and connecting with all the key players. And the best part? We've secured a $117K grant from the Recreational Trail Program to help make this project a reality.

Combined with funds from our raffles and other resources, our total budget now stands at a whopping $150K. We hope to begin construction this spring! https://www.rvmba.org/mt-a-line

In other news, RVMBA has had a full plate, juggling several projects at once. While some initiatives may experience temporary setbacks due to various factors, it's essential to maintain a diverse portfolio of projects.

Ashland was recently ranked #5 in Outside Magazine's 10 best small bike towns in America. RVMBA is proud to play a role in making this area a haven for cyclists, and we believe that these projects are an essential part of maintaining this reputation. These projects not only help the locals, but also attract visitors who contribute to the area's thriving community.

RVMBA won this year's Oregon Recreation and Parks Association (ORPA) Volunteer Services Award for the B-st Jumps project and for the on-going work at Dollar Mountain. Thank you all for your membership support and volunteer service.

Ongoing projects:

  • Dollar Mountain - The City of Grants Pass selected Ptarmigan Ptrail Construction to build phase of the Dollar Mountain Trail Park.  Ptarmigan is based out of Port Orford and has experience building trails in Southern Oregon in steep terrain similar to Dollar Mountain.  Phase 1 will include rerouting steep sections of the existing Summit Trail as well as building 6.5 miles of dual-use hiking and biking trails, plus 5 miles of bike-only trails.  Trail construction is scheduled to begin this Fall and will be finished by next Spring.

  • MOTR (Mountain of the Rogue) - watch for expansion of the MOTR trail system starting next spring. We'll be sharing more info as it comes in.

  • East Main Pump Track - We should know if the City of Ashland secured the grant in the next couple of weeks. Keep your fingers crossed.

  • Future dig days will be announced soon... we have to just wait for some more precipitation.
