City Council Position 5

Gina DuQuenne

Running unopposed

What is your personal experience in the watershed and its trail network?

Gina

Personally I do not frequent the watershed or trails. However, my family does, and what they have suggested is we need wayfinding, trail signs, and maps to help hikers, bikers, and runners navigate our beautiful watershed.

How do you see the role of outdoor recreation in our local economy and what specifically, if anything, would you propose the city do to foster it?

Gina

Regarding outdoor recreation in our local economy. I would like to see the City of Ashland, Travel Ashland, and Travel Southern Oregon working to promote and radically boost outdoor recreation in Southern Oregon. Ashland has something for everyone. This would help our economy in a big way.

What is your position on expanding the mountain bike and hiking trail network on City land? If you support an increase in trails, how specifically would you work to accomplish this? / What else would you like us to know regarding your goals if you are elected?

Gina

My position on expanding and question number four (goals if elected) I can answer together. I love and appreciate all the open spaces and out door recreations in Ashland. The city has many things that need to be brought to the community and then prioritized so that the council can make the best use of the city owned land and the peoples money (the budget).

I think it is more important to have well kept pristine and safe trails in and around our watershed then more than we can handle at this time
