2014 Ashland Mountain Challenge

2014 Ashland Mountain Challenge

The Ashland Mountain Challenge was last weekend in beautiful Southern Oregon hosted by Ashland Mountain Adventures.

The weekend brought the perfect weather with a sudden downpour on Thursday bringing much needed moisture to the trails and helping to curb the dust. The weekend went off without a hitch, no serious injuries were reported. There were stories of slight mishaps with various forms of wild life around the race course. One rider encountered a bear on trail then immediately suffered a double flat has he left the trail to avoid the creature. Scary stuff. There was also talk of a racer clearing a poodle which belonged to an oblivious hiker on the race course. We’d all love to see that GoPro footage!

As usual there were plenty of RVMBA members in attendance both racing and helping to put on the event. There were in excess of 150 riders competing in the event.

If you’re interested in the results they are posted here.

Pinkbike also had some great coverage with some highres images for your viewing pleasure here.
