Applegate ride 12/15/13

RVMBA advertised a group ride for Applegate lake this past Sunday. The Rouge Valley was cold, suffering with inversion and freezing fog when we set off. After fueling with appropriate warm caffeinated beverages we set off toward the Applegate. The road out was fraught with peril, every time you hit a shady spot there was a good chance it was icy. So our truck did not proceed at “Fish Speed.”

We opted to ride the sunny side of the lake, so we parked at Swayne View Point parking lot and rode to just short of Watkins campground before turning around and proceeding back the way we came.

Arriving at the Applegate first I snapped this shot of the temp. COLD!

The riders began to land and assembled for the mandatory group shot.

After we set off on the ride the usual safety meetings were required and documented.

The only incident to report was a highside by Lewis, which resulted in this.

After pulling Lewis out of the hole he landed in we were off again.
